a second lease on life

you know what's the difference between a robber and a thief?

a robber uses violence, a thief uses stealth. but both achieve their ends by taking your personal property. robbery and theft are both crimes but obviously there's a heavier punishment for robbery. of course, that's because thieves don't traumatize you. they just take your thing/s without poking a gun at your brother's belly. they don't shout, that's coz they take your things in secret. in the final analysis thieves are saints compared to robbers, and i bet they're a lot smarter too.

last night, my brother and i were walking home, it was ironic that i mentioned that our subdivision was safe even at an ungodly hour. they were lights all around, as i used to walk home at night. besides, it wasn't that late. it was my brother's idea to walk home, but he changed his mind at the 1st minute of walking. it was, i guess ESP, but nontheless we continued walking.

we were two blocks from our house when a motorcycle approached us (2 men), and the passenger (a muscular 5'10 ish man wearing a bandana) alighted the cycle and pointed a gun at us. he shouted, "cellphone, cellphone, akina cellphone mo!" at first, i stood frozen on the spot, by this time, my brother and i were already sprawled on the sidewalk. he approached nearer, and was searching my brother's pants while poking a gun. my brother pleaded, wag po, wag po. i shouted, screamed, shrieked for help. we were just in front of a friend's house. the robber panicked and he boarded the cycle. he still poked his gun at us while they sped away. i wasn't able to get the plate number, except for a measly first letter. which was F, which stands for fuck. probably coz, the crime took place near the barranggay where the tanods are.

they were'nt able to get anything from us and we weren't hurt. i was confident that even while we didn't know what to do and we were all out of sorts, God was there to protect us. probably He sent His angels or something to shield us. or probably He moved the hearts of those robbers so that he didn't pull the trigger. whatever it was, it was a miracle that we're still alive. and i don't know why, but i'm so blessed to have this second lease on life.

just thought i'd drop by

let me reminisce a bit..two freakin' months have passed. march..hmm what happened that month..lemme see...oh yeah, finals week so i guessed i must have reviewed for a whole month? hehe..

april, hmm...oh, holy week. then a postponed OBLICON exam, then the 2 weeks that followed that, i rummaged through last sem's readings and arranged cases, alphabetically. heeeh... not that i'm OC-OC, i just want to be a tad organized, that's all. i wanna take a picture of my bookshelves, it looks pretty crowded already. it's a freakin' fire hazard.

sometimes, i imagine lighting the bottom shelf with a match and i just watch my readings burn. lovely lovely fire...

i'm making boxes out of scrap newspaper and carton boxes. you know that gawgaw paste? makes pretty darn glue. when they're dry, i'm gonna paint them green. dark green. not moss green, apple green, neon shit and stuff. it's dark green. still regret not buying that black paint though..hu hu.

wanna work. but mom's against it. but i want money! wanna buy books! i have about a month left before i drown my neurons again. i'll have persons, legal history, agency and partnership, legal theory, and land titles and deeds. except for persons, my subjects this sem are pretty boring stuff. ewww..necessary evils.
