what is the world coming to?

three things:

1. i wanted the nigerian cardinal to be the next pope. and i haven't gotten over the fact that the new pope looks like, well...to put it bluntly: Ratzinger looks like Anthony Hopkins. as Hannibal. my mom was obviously shocked at my sacrilegious comment. but my brother agreed with me. (i love that brat) but we soon realized that he doesn't look that bad once he had those huge glasses on. the glasses masked anything cannibalistic. my dear catholics, please: don't detest me.

2. ciara abalos, daughter of rep. abalos was murdered. young. smart. she has a great future ahead of her. and she was robbed of it. i despise testosterone-fueled individuals.

3. a canadian singer sang the star spangled banner, or rather mis-sang it in front of a whole audience in a hockey tournament. she went backstage (or was it the locker room?) because of sheer humiliation. after a few moments or so, she went back on ice again and slipped, butt first. no concussions. just a beet-red face. i wonder how she'll live through a double-whammy like that. she should've sang "o, canada! o, canada" instead.
